Artists who take Commissions

The artists on this page all take jewelry making commissions and will create a special piece to your specifications. Contact the artist directly for more information.

Tips on commissioning work

Look at the artist's work and find an artist whose style you like.

Be very clear about what you want. Collect pictures or items that reflect some element of the piece you'd like the artist to create.

If you can draw, create a sketch of the piece you want. Even a stick diagram will help the artist to understand your ideas. The more information you can give the artist about what you want, the better.

If you have a deadline for the piece to be delivered - like a birthday or anniversary - tell the artist. Make sure you give the artist plenty of time to make your piece. Commissions at the last minute are stressful for everyone!

Once you've agreed a design with the artist, don't change your mind! The artist will give you a price based on the agreed design so if you change your mind, you will have to pay more. You may even have to pay twice if the artist has already started work.

The main thing is BE CLEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT AND STICK TO IT!

Be prepared to pay a non-refundable deposit before the artist starts work. The balance of the cost is normally paid before delivery.
