In this 2-day masterclass, Wanaree will teach you the most efficient way to construct a small, tension closure and hinged locket. You’ll learn so many useful techniques including; Wanaree’s complete Signature Die Cut Tool method, Hollow Form System, best clay refinement practises, simplified self-contained hinge construction, the tricks of tension closures, ornamental swing bail, and Wanaree’s preferred metal finishing process! After two days, you’ll leave with an incredibly detailed, unique and very special fine silver prayer box that you can hang on a chain or on a charm bracelet, and many new techniques that you can put into practise on future projects too!

This 2-day masterclass introduces Wanaree’s FreeForm Design, Meditative Mandala Design and Die Cut Tool methods. Wanaree will share her techniques for applying a vibrant, multi-coloured metal patina that acts like paint when wet and won’t rub off or have to be re-applied. You’ll also learn her best refinement practises for metal clay, how to construct an ornamental swing bail, her silver clay firing method for distortion prevention and her metal finishing processes. After two days, you’ll leave with your own highly detailed, unique talisman pendant and the knowledge and techniques to put into practise on future projects too!

What: Silver and Metal Clay Narrative Jewellery

Where: CSACJ, St Austell, Cornwall

When: 18th – 24th October 2018

This six day narrative jewellery masterclass with Polish art jeweller Iwona Tamborska will take your metal clay work to a whole new level. The course runs as four consecutive days, a rest day and then two final days. It spans seven days in all. You can also take each individual two day project class separately if you can’t make the full six days.

You will create narrative jewellery which tells your own story. Combining traditional silverwork techniques with metal clay you’ll create totally unique statement jewellery with the wow factor. All the materials are included in the price except for the second project. For this project, you have personal choice for the focal piece. After signing up for the class, you will be given more information on this together with the tools you’ll need to bring if you have them.

Fantasy Eyes Pendant with Anna MazonWhat: Fantasy Eyes with Anna Mazon

This 3 days workshop is packed with lots of different techniques, featuring an eye motif (hollow from the back), various, sculptural ornaments which create a narrative context for the eye and a bezel set stone (the shape of the stone is your choice). The eye can be made into a dragon eye, as pictured, but also an eye of the ocean etc. – depending on your prefernce when comes to additional ornaments. Wonderful textures, interesting shapes, lots of tricks for creating secure openwork constructions in metal clay, semi hollow forms and working with wet coils – this is what this workshop is about. In this master class you will create a swivel, hinged locket with a nested nook that swings down to reveal the contents within. The nook can hold many things – keepsakes, photos, memorabilia or a special message. Think of it as a secret niche inside a pendant.

In this master class you will explore the process of making a hinged cylindrical receptacle. This small decorative locket is fashioned in the style of a Tibetan prayer wheel. It’s a place to hold your secret wishes close to your heart.

This is a three day metal clay workshop in which you will make a Fantasy Eye Pendant with Polish metal clay artist and tutor Anna Mazon. 30g Art Clay Silver is included in the price. 

As usual with Anna Mazon’s classes, it will be packed with lots of different techniques, featuring an eye motif (hollow from the back) and various sculptural ornaments which create a narrative context for the eye and a bezel set stone in the shape of your choice.

This is a two day metal clay workshop in which you will learn to make a Climbing Rose Pendant with Polish metal clay artist and tutor Anna Mazon. 20g Art Clay Silver is included in the price. 

This pendant features a really unusual, elongated bead cap construction, adorned with beautiful, fully handmade, climbing flowers, interlacing coils and other small ornaments. Interesting construction techniques, making long hollow tubes without using extruder, various approaches to working with coils wet and dry is what this workshop is about.

Twig RingsWhat: Twig Ring with Anna Mazon

When: 7th July 2019

In this 1 day class you will learn how to make an organic, romantic ring, adorned with cubic zirconias and precise, tiny ornaments. You will use silver clay to create petite twigs, decorated with tiny leaves and other embellishments. You will also learn to securely set faceted stones that can be fired in place. All these skills can be easily adapted to your own style, merged with your favourite techniques and used with different metal clays.
